Can anyone explain what this quote means?

what does this quote mean, cause i've tried to explain it but i haven't been able to find the right words to explain it properly, thanks :)Freedom does not mean being able to play and goof off, it means being able to the right thing, like standing up for minorities, fighting government misbehavior, speaking out when corporations are doing bad things to people or to the environment.
